A lot of us celebrate on the 4th of July because 'everyone is doing it'. Shouldn't we really be celebrating because it is our Independence Day - our day to celebrate our great country!?! It is not just a day on a calendar, but a day that so many have fought for, died for, and lucky for us, we get to live for it - we need to live with gratitude for our country. To me, I think this means that instead of complaining about our politicians or laws, lets find the good things to talk about, instead of complaining that our troops are overseas, let send a care package to bring them a little closer to home.

Matt is a great example of this - he, like they say, 'puts his money where his mouth is', and instead of just talking about supporting our troops, then sitting on the couch and not actually doing anything, he maintains the yard of a family whose husband and father is deployed overseas from our ward.
Don't just have a BBQ because of a date of a calendar - celebrate together because we have alot to offer the world, and why should they embrace democracy and have gratitude for it, it we don't?

what a great post--I completely agree. I like the pictures too, how the flags really pop out. That looks really great.
Amen! And Matt is a great example. That's really awesome what he is doing.
