A busy time of year

This is such a busy time of year around our house. On Monday Jacob has his first birthday party with his friends! It was lots of fun. The invites, decorations, and such were dinosaur themed, hence the T-Rex pinata . . .

All the kids came to the house around 3:00. We decorated trick-or-treat bags and then went outside for the pinata. With little people taking their turn hitting the T-Rex, everyone had quite a few hits before we finally just kind of broke it open! It was a pretty tough little thing! After the pinata we came back inside to open presents - Jacob got a firetruck, a memory game, some glitter paints, and some matchbox cars

Then, if that was not enough fun for a day, we had a little family party that night where we had birthday cake, and even more presents! I can't believe that Jacob is 4 - time flies by!

Then yesterday evening, we carved pumpkins! Jacob is so squirmy when he has to get his hands dirty, so it took some convincing before he would reach inside the pumpkin to pull out the seeds and stuff, but Hailey (of course) jumped right in, then she would flip her hands by her face trying to get it all off, thus flinging bits of pumpkin guts into her hair, across the kitchen, all over her arms and hands, etc.
