Girl's Day

Girl's Day was lots of fun this year. We decorated pots for house plants and made cards. I am sure that Matt is very happy that we did pots because he has been wanting plants in the house for a long time now, and I am always telling him that I will kill a plant without even trying, so we will see how it goes! All of us (Christine, Beth, Britney, Emma, Gen, and me) were there so there was lots of different ides for the pots and such. Lots of different colors, textures, stamps, ribbons, and the like. Each one turned out very different, but all were great!
I think my problem is over-watering - apparently you can drown plants, so we will cut back on the water to one time per week and see how it goes - push comes to shove, we can fill the pot with a fake plant that you only have to dust!

After painting the pots we made cards. I have never seen (outside of a scrapbook store) so many different trinkets, beads, fibers, papers, stamps, machines, cutters, sticker makers, etc! I really need to get up-to-speed on my scrapbooking supplies! I especially appreciated the handy machine that cuts out any letter in a variety of fonts that you choose - it is like somebody read my mind and created the very thing that I have been needing all these long years!
Emma had pre-made a bunch of very creative and darling examples for us to be inspired by, or just copy :) We ended up with a bunch of very cute cards. In fact, I liked it so much that I might just make it a habit of making cards for all sorts of occasions and events and just keep them in a box, ready to use at a moments notice!

Christine also gave us all a copy of Jane Clayson's book on motherhood - which of course I forgot to grab as I left, so I will have to pick it up next time I am at the house!
We all had fun, and it was nice getting together without all the kids to just chat, make something cute, and enjoy each other's company!
