Update . . .
So we met with the endocrinologist who basically said that Bryce is clinically GH/IGF-deficient (GH = growth hormone) IGF = insulin-like growth factor). Growth hormone is read by IGF receptor cells that turn it into IGF-1 which causes us to grow. Bryce does not produce growth hormone, therefore cannot produce enough IGF-1. This means that he will receive a very small injection of growth hormone every day until he is 17 years old! They estimate his bone age to be just about 9 months, even though his real age is 16 months. This also explains the blood sugar issues because growth hormone uses fat cells and all sorts of things, so that should level out on its own as he starts on the growth hormone therapy. The injection is just like a click-pen injector, so no real needles and such. According to the research I have been doing on my own, complete IGF-deficiency only affects about 20,000 kids in the US! More kids than that are on the same type of hormone therapy for things like genetic short stature, dwarfism, and such. So the stuff will be delivered to our house in 3- month increments for the next 151/2 years (sound fun doesn't it). I am just glad that we know what the problem is and how to fix it - it could have been a lot worse like a tumor in his brain or something horrible like that! Today, our little family is very grateful for the wonder of modern medicine and science!

goodness gracious, now watch...he'll end up being 6'8"
Megan! I found your blog through Erin's. Wow! I can't believe all you have gone through. What a blessing you have answers! Good luck and congrats on being pregnant! It has been great reading up on what you are doing.
