It's hard to be the mom!

We have crossed another major milestone - Jake goes to other peoples houses to play! You would think that this is really no big deal - you might be saying, 'well, of course kids want to be kids and they just want to play'. But, I had no idea it would be so hard for me to let my kid go do something all by himself, and at someone else's house. I sat here thinking of all the bad things that could happen, all the strange and/or embarrassing things that he could be saying, all the things that he might need help with or not know what to do with . . .and on and on and on! He is back playing with the same girls today, and it is a little easier, but for all mom's out there whose kids are all young still - watch out, this moment is coming for you as well! (And yes, Matt thinks that I am a bit 'crazy' about this :)

Oh wow! I'm not looking forward to that... at the same time, I thought... how great to see what they can handle on their own!

Amen! School is hard. Genny cried at the door of 2nd grade -- and so did I! The teacher gave us a minute.
